Power-to-gas technology plays a key role in the transformation of our energy system. It enables green electricity to be converted into hydrogen and used in other sectors. It also allows us to use the gas infrastructure to store renewable energy. Amprion as a transmission system operator for electricity and Open Grid Europe (OGE) as a transmission system operator for gas plan to further develop sector coupling. Our target: With our hybridge project, we want to advance this technology so that it is available on an industrial scale in future.

hybridge – this is the name of the largescale power-to-gas project by Amprion and Open Grid Europe (OGE). From 2023 we plan that our pilot plant will be able to convert up to 100 megawatts of electrical power into hydrogen. With this project, we want to further develop a technology that will play a key role in the transformation of our energy system.
